Back to the States!

So...I might be one of the inefficient bloggers since I haven't updated this the entire summer, except to let you all know that I heading back to the States in a few hours!!! I really did want to keep this updated and keep you in on all of my exciting adventures and happenings in Rwanda and Kenya and in London, but unfortunately I had the worst time tryign to access the internet and especially the blog in Kenya. Either ways, I had one of the best times of my life and definitely and amazing experience. The OLPC project in Vutakaka was a success, the kids and teachers loved the XOs and I hope they'll be able to successfully sustain the project! I was very involved w/ other activities in the village in Takaungu such as the HIV outreach programs and other stuff. The village, Takaungu, itself was awesome..increbily conservative, but manageble. I lived near the coast so I frequented the beaches all summer!...went snorkling, canoeing in the creek and in the sea, went on a SAFARI!, and sipped Tuskers on the beach side. Sounds like a perfect summer right? This past week in London was just as great...actually had th ebets time. Visited all the touristy spots-the palace, the parks, the museums, London eye, Westminster, Coppen Garden, Hamstead, St. Johns..........and more. Absolutely loved every minute of spending time with my sisters/cousins and family and friends here...and I'm actually kinda sad to leave.
So it's back to NYC for me in a few hours! :) See you all when I get back....

I made it!

I'm here...in Nirobi!  I made it in one piece and I even got to try out my bargaining skills.   I bargained my taxi ride from 1800 to 1300!!! whoo hoo!  At the Terminal Hotel for the night...it's this small motel looking thing and a club across the street that's blasting all the latest pop and clubby music.  They are playing Boom boom by Venga boys...!  Flight to Kenya was lots of fun...full of tourists who were all equally excited to come here.   Going to bed soon...have to leave in 5 hours to Kampala, Uganda by bus(a supposedly 12 hour journey)..spend the night there and then another 12 hours to Kigali, Rwanda where I will be for about 2 weeks!

Goodnight and sweet dreams from Niarobi!

Helllooo!

Miss me yet?! ;)

Finally in London! Have a quick layover here...only 2 hours! Actually way less since it took forever for BA to find parking....I was hoping to have a longer transit here. Heathrow airport's awesome...so big! and the accents...I love it! An hour before I head to Nirobi!!!! Yay! As usual I was rushed and running and tripping over thing ...all because I was running late and had to catch my first flight here from NY. Flight over here to London was crazy....I initially had middle seats and requested window or aisle. Then the lady finally hooked me up w/ window only to be stuck in the back by stinky restrooms and a lady who kept whining and kicking my seat! But I finally got to see 'He's just not that into you'...I liked it...pretty funny!

I'm looking forward to Nirobi! I hope I won't have too much trouble getting to my hotel. I will spend the night in Nirobi and then supposed to head to Rwanda tomorrow for the OLPC training. I will keep you all posted!

Have to go...time to board! Miss you all...keep in touch...

xoxo
